Dragonflight (cover)

A gold dragon carrying a small rider soars over jagged mountains toward a red planet in a green-gold sky, with a wing of other dragons behind. Whelan painted it as the wraparound cover of Anne McCaffrey's Dragonflight (Ballantine/Del Rey, 1978).
