Cover of the D&D Expert Set (1981)

by Erol Otus

A red-robed wizard holding a book raises his hand in front of a dark, many-towered castle, while a green dragon coils in the foreground. Erol Otus painted it as the box art for the 1981 D&D Expert Set.
