How do you know what magic you can use? also, how do you know what type of dragon you are?

I'll answer the second question first.

If you happen to be draconic otherkin (not everyone is otherkin, its nothing to be ashamed of, and there seem to be many species being born as human at the moment, not just dragons) the best way to find out what type you are is through meditation and looking deep within yourself.

This isn't an overnight thing though, some people spend many years finding out who and what they were. I advise you not to try to force it, it usually leads to aggrivation, but let your memories come in their own time. There is no grand prize or title for getting there quickly. Oh, and don't automatically think you will be a well known dragon type (oriental, western, wyvern, etc) many dragon kin find their species is a formally unknown or unique type.

Try keeping a note book beside your bed to record your dreams as soon as you wake up, even the non-dragony ones can help improve dream recall later, and put aside a little bit of time everyday just to sit down and relax. There are loads of different meditation techniques available online but if you want I can type one up for you tomorrow, try a few and when you find one you're happy with get into the habit of reaching that meditative state for a little while each day.

I can't promise that you'll suddenly start knowing the dragon you might have been, but it hopefully it will help.

As for magic, again meditation can help there. Some draconic otherkin find that after a while they gain contact with a mentor or spirit guide through meditation who is able to help them with such discoveries, but not all of us are that lucky. There is a chance you could be from a species that doesn't have any magical abilities, while magic is common in dragonkin communities not everyone had magic in their previous lives.

The idea of what type of dragon came to me through meditation a little but mostly because something deep inside told me so.
A chain of events,some coincidences and especially I remember when I stared at Ciruelo`s Dragon Rexx.
I feel in love with that pic in some way lol
Then I knew I ws a dragoness .

As far as what Dragon am I - I'm not. I'm a human who loves dragons. There are a few of us around.

And magic it is one of the names given to a lot of similar things: Powers, the force, magic, x abilities - they all stem from the same thing, the life energy from the universe. (I have gone into this in more detail in another thread but I can't remember where). You ability to use magic will increase with time and training.

As to what you can do with it, a very powerful warrior or sage can do nearly anything, but not everyone can achieve this level of power. And always remember "With great power comes great responsibility" If you misuse your power it can lead you into darkness from which few return.

razor your right about powerful magics if used for the wrong reasons you could be thrown into a dark despair and others are sent into a rampage of destruction.
as for me sometimes when i get enraged at somebody i begin to chant and once finish with the chant i throw my hand to the ground to release the energy.

The dragon in me first came to light based off two different events. One was my original account's picture. For some reason, it just...clicked with me. From there, the whole history of the Dragon Warriors, the Dragon War, the Great Evil...it all started to come to me, courtesy of the Guardians.

The second was in a time of dispair and a close call with death. It was also the time that I learned suicide would lead to only more pain, not the relief of it. It was the Guardians and Almoraan, the dragon spirit that had been residing in me since birth (and therefore answering my question as to why I seemed to be different from everyone else to a major degree) that stopped me and told me the truth as to why I existed.

From there, events transpire and now I'm more than Almoraan or the Guardians foresaw in the beginning. From the shadowy grip of darkness to the bright glow of light, I've literatly been there and back again. Just this story wasn't written by Bilbo Baggins. =P [Note: I can't help but add humor into even the most dire and serious of situations; I hate being serious 120%. I just have to say something off-beat and funny to make the situation less tense.]

As for my magic, I've been given three chances to unlock it. Twice I went to do so, but stopped and abanndoned the chance because I was around too many people...I didn't want lives to be lost in the outburst of my contained power. I still have one last chance, but I've forgotten where the corridor within me is. Aside from unlocking my magic for external use, I can manage to channel it and use it for a variety of uses dispite that.

I think that, due to the many changes I've gone through since that time, the seal on my power isn't able to hold back all of it and it's leaking through. Plus, I'm able to channel it through my body for a multitude of perposes, sometimes to help recover from an injury, sometimes for offense, sometimes for defense.


But for now, I focus on magic that my heart and spirit combine to create, as it tends to be quite powerful...but I don't use it out in the open often.

To be honest, I'm one that tends to keep that type of power concealed from the world, to prevent others from mis-using it. I want to make the world a better place, not be someone's weapon to gain them power.


Besides, my power isn't fully controled, so I'm like a loose cannon. Another good reason why one wouldn't be able to control my power. ^.=.^
